The total cost of reprinting the St Kitts Laws, if I remember rightly, amounted to about £280, including a remuneration of £100 to the Commissioners who supervised the work. I have arranged that the services of the Commissioners here shall be given gratuitously, and the strength of the volume will not be one half the size of that published for St Kitts by Messrs Clowes + Son of Charing Cross. The expense, therefore, of the contemplated republication of the Hong Kong Ordinances will be inconsiderable, and I have no doubt that the entire outlay will eventually be recovered by the sale to the public of the volumes not required for Government purposes.
